Poached Chicken

This is how to make really soft chicken that is really good for putting into a kitchenaid and ‘shredding’. This is what I do (from here).

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken breast
  2. olive oil
  3. Also you’ll need a pan with a lid, sized according to how much meat you want to put in.

Steps:

  1. Get chicken ready to put into the pan (I take it straight from the packaging it comes in).
  2. Put the pan on the stove, add some olive oil, set heat to Medium High, and add your chicken to the pan.
  3. Once you’ve done that, wait 1 minute.
  4. After 1 minute, flip all the pieces of chicken.
  5. After that, put the lid on (and keep it on), and set the heat to Low.
  6. Wait 10 min, keeping the lid on.
  7. After 10 min, turn off the heat, keeping the lid on. Wait 10 more min.
  8. After 10 more min, take the lid off.
  9. Cut into a big piece of chicken to make sure it cooked all the way through, which it should have quite well.
  10. (Optional) Put the chicken into your kitchen aid mixer with a mixing attachment (not the dough hook), and mix on lowest setting until the chicken as reached your desired shreddedness. Add salt, garlic, some black pepper, etc, to taste, while it is mixing.
