Ground Beef

Here is how I make ground beef. Regarding the spices, I kind of do it randomly each time, and due to that inconsistency sometimes it’s way better than others. I’m trying to remember to keep track of how I experiment so that I can write down which spices and how much turn out the best.

First thing to know is that in this recipe we remove the beef fat. I remove the fat because of the scriptures in Leviticus 3:16-17, 7:22-24, and 1 Samuel 2:12-17, the most straightforward of which says,

It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

Leviticus 3:17

Ingredients:

  1. Ground beef (Walmart has organic, grass-fed
  2. Olive oil
  3. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Parsley might also be a good idea.
  4. Also you’ll need a pan sized according to the amount of beef you use.

Steps:

  1. Set the pan on the stove on Medium heat. Add some olive oil, which the fat will render into, and both will be discarded. (This video goes over the process to be described here).
  2. Add your ground beef to the pan, break it into pieces, stir it and such, until it’s all broken up and light brown.
  3. Turn off the heat, and then push all the beef to one side of the pan, and incline the pan so that the fat/oil goes to one side and the beef is on the other side.
  4. Remove the fat/oil from the pan using a spoon. Discard the same way you discard used cooking oil (e.g., in a container or something but not down the sink).
  5. Once the fat is removed, set your pan back flat on the stove and set the heat to Medium.
  6. Add some olive oil, tons of garlic powder, some black pepper, plenty of oregano, and salt to taste. When you add salt to taste, be careful to not overdo the salt. Eventually I will update this recipe with real measurements per pound of ground beef.
  7. Once you’ve done all that, stir and cook everything in for a few minutes, tasting the beef as you go, and that should do it!
